Nagar is a district located in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and is a 60 Km distance from Gilgit city. It has been declared an autonomous district from the Hunza-Nagar division in 2015 by establishing administrative units in GB. The area is renowned for the beauty and hospitality in travelers' ranking. Every year, tourists from across the world visit the valley and enjoy the beauty. 




Summer is a time for traversing new corners of the globe and making sure your social-media following knows it. But with limited holiday allowance and fall slowly descending upon us, not everyone can take time away from the office desk to satisfy their wanderlust.  So for those seeking to escape the fast pace of their home metropolis, here’s a look at some of the finest places in Nagar to relax and de-stress while grazing on some exquisite finger food alfresco.

Though, Nagar Valley located with plenty of beautiful places but the most attractive resorts, as a general guide for visitors are given as;




1. Gappa || Chaproute Valley

It is a newly unearthed valley of District Nagar located at 4500 km height above the level of the Indus river. The valley is the upper part of Chaproute with a distance of 5 Km from Chalt Bazar. Residents are living in the area during spring and cultivating Potato, Pulses, and other vegetables that are renown in GB. This vast stretch of greenery attracts thousands of tourists to pay the visit, and camping and trekking remain the significant activities throughout the season. The valley receives thousands of visitors every year for its long trekking trail and water streams. 




2. Hapakun & Taghaferry || Minapin Valley

Hapakun is the upper part of Minapin Valley in district Nagar and locates near to Kachaili, a picnic resort in the neighboring village Miachar. Hapakun and Taghaferry are known by their plan areas and grasslands surrounded by glaciers and Rakaposhi. The locals hold different festivities in the same place where people across the country participate and enjoy their spare time. It is only 3-4 hours trekking from the Minapin Bazar and can vary by person to person.

70km from Gilgit, after a 2km detour from the Karakoram Highway, you find Minapin, a small, cozy village and the starting point for both Rakaposhi and Diran base camps. Hapakun is a small campsite located between Minapin and the Rakaposhi base camp, the perfect place to spend the first night and from where you can go to Diran glacier. Going to Hapakun takes around 4 or 5 hours and the trail is very easy to follow, except for the last few kilometers, as they are a bit confusing. However, you are likely to find shepherds who will tell you the way to follow.





3. Daiter || Bar Valley

Daiter is an upper part of the Bar valley and is expanded with dense jungles and grasslands. The spring comes up with smelly flowers and waterfalls that add more beauty. For trekking, it takes almost 5-6 hours from the Bar Bazar. The valley is famous for animals where the locals holding hundreds of own animals on this landscape.  




4. Rakaposhi Base Camp || Ghulmet Valley

The Rakaposhi mountain, a 7,800-meter-high peak, is the highest mountain and, probably, the most iconic from the Karakoram range which can be visible from the Karakoram Highway.

It’s located in the Nagar Valley, in the north of Pakistan, and in the local language it means ”shiny wall”. The Rakaposhi peak is the 27th highest mountain on Earth but considered one of the most beautiful ones.




From a kilometric glacier with 30km deep crevasses to a base camp from where you see endless peaks belonging to the Karakoram range, going to the Rakaposhi base camp was, definitely, one of the highlights of the trip to the Rakaposhi base; and not only for being such a stunning place, as impressive as Fairy Meadows and the Nanga Parbat, but also because we could enjoy those mountains practically by ourselves, which means that this is a real off the beaten track place in Pakistan.





5. Hoper Glaciers || Hoper Valley

This is a scenic region of the district Nagar in Gilgit-Baltistan. It is only 10 km away from Nagar Khas, a valley in district Nagar, and around 150 km distance from Gilgit city. Hoper is the home of Spantik and Glaciers, known as Hoper Glacier. 



Hoper Valley is a cluster of villages around a natural bowl at a bend of Baltoro Glacier. Opposite to Hopar the white Bualtar is joined by the Barpu Glacier. This is a base camp for treks into the high, glacier-draped peaks called the Hispar Muztagh. The whole population of this valley is Burushaski speakers.
