KARAKURAM INTERNATIONAL HIGHWAY IS BLOCKED AT JAFFARABAD NAGAR

JAFFARABAD: The snow avalanche has partially blocked the main Karakoram International Highway at the juncture of Jaffarabad and Nilt. The concerned authority FWO moved bulldozers with rescue members to the spot and removed the ice stock for traffic and other transportation.

The area has remained a flashpoint for avalanche and flooding every year, but locals and tourists are pouring the venue and enjoying with ice and snowmen every year.

Residents living in the areas are demanding the local authorities and the central government to compensate their losses of grazing areas and trees that have been grounded and swiped by avalanches and floods.
